This year, my friend Lauren and I decided on a whim to put my Christmas lights up about 45 minutes before she needed to head to the airport to go home. While my husband played World of Warcraft and the kids napped, we dug around in various closets until we found several gnarly piles of icicle lights to add to the tricked out new LED lights and drunk penguin we bought at Target.
