Moving In

The great thing about buying a house is finally living in it. The actual act of moving isn’t so great. There are too many boxes and too much heavy lifting. You have to organize, pack, and clean. Then you have to clean and unpack and organize some more. If I were Martha Stewart maybe I’d [...]

How to Straighten Out Life in 11 Minutes

Timer set for 11 minutes

To say that we get “overwhelmed” with our commitments is an understatement. Life is crazy busy, y’all! I constantly remind myself that I don’t have enough hours in the day to do everything that I want, and couldn’t figure out a way to get it all done. I mean, I’ve read the books, blog posts [...]

Measures of Success

It’s important to take stock of one’s achievements. Every so often, shame is replaced by pride when I think about what I’ve gotten away with accomplished. In a looksie back over the last year, do you mind if I share? Recapture my lost youth? Right after I adjust to the new trifocals. Lose weight? Well, [...]

How to Create a Charging Station

You'd like looking at that every day, right?

There was (believe it or not) a time not too long ago that we didn’t have the need for a space dedicated to charging our electronics. Remember that time? The time when we had ONE cellphone? HA! In our house alone we have laptops, phones, and more (ugh, I’m embarrassed to list them all) and we’ve [...]

Get Organized Using Unconventional Objects

If there is one thing that I struggle with in my home, it’s organizing everyday objects that I use all of the time–more specifically, my jewelry. Trust me, they didn’t always look so organized and pretty like this. Not that there is a revolving door of people that come into my bedroom, but everyone who [...]

EZPZ Household Recipe Book

I joined Weight Watchers a couple years ago, and found that if I just stuck to more reasonable portions and eliminated adjusted my fast food cooking habits, I could lose some weight and help my family make healthy choices. Win! I’m pretty cheap though, so I stuck with it for a couple of months and didn’t renew. Before I dropped it, I printed as many recipes as I could and threw them into a three ring binder. It’s served us pretty well, but I am ready to take it up a notch and create a family recipe book. Project EZPZ Recipe Book is ON!

Put Your Sh*t in a Container

A good place to buy a container?

As a society, we have come up with all kinds of ways to keep our stuff organized. We put our clothes in the drawers of our dresser, our food in the refrigerator, our money in our wallets. And while there have been creative and innovative ideas to help us store our stuff over the years, [...]

EZPZ: Keeping Your Stuff Together

Easy ways to manage paperwork

When I was a kid, I had one aspiration: to be a grown up. Grown ups were so cool.  They could drive cars, go to bed whenever they wanted, and they made up all the rules. And, then, I became a grown up and realized that was all total crap, and I was way better [...]

Taking Organizationally Challenged to a Whole New Level

Our youngest daughter was born in Florida while my husband was in the Navy.  Before we moved back to Ohio I made sure that I obtained a certified copy of her birth certificate, which I promptly lost.  I then ordered another copy of her birth certificate, which while I kept onto until we got to [...]

Confession: I’m selectively aiming low

Before we go any further, I feel like I need to come clean with you all. Oh, hi.  My name is Britt and I’m the newest member of the Aiming Low crew.  In fact, I’m actually one of the Aiming Low editors, although I’m still not exactly sure what that makes me the boss of [...]
