I’ve always felt so stupid about the left and right thing! If we get to an intersection and someone says “turn left here” there is really no telling which way i will go. So glad to know I’m not alone!

I don’t have kids so you can take this with a grain of salt if you like but I think we’re sort of missing the point. There are a lot of words that aren’t one of the “seven deadly” that are just a profane in the right circumstances and perfectly innocent in others. I think you know the sort of mean. It doesn’t matter that we do or don’t say certain words in front of our kids. It’s what we teach them about how to decide what they are going to say. All speech has fucking consequences, damnit. I can, however, cause just as much damage by uttering a choice statement that contains no swear words. We need to teach one really important concept; discretion. There is nothing wrong with screaming “Fuck you, you fucking fucker!” at the coffee table you just stubbed your toe on. There is everything wrong with saying, “You are ugly and stinky!” to a classmate.

I had a random lady who I got into a conversation with at swimming lessons tell me I was lucky that my 15 mth old daughter not eating sometimes was good because “at least you know she won’t be fat.” People are such idiots.

Oddly I find it easier to drive on the right (and yes I had to google which side of the road we drive on ‘cos I couldn’t work it out), it somehow seems more logical.
