SAVE THE DATE: The @AimingLow Non-Conference #ALNonCon

In the past years, Aiming Low-ers have been conference attenders, speakers, panelists, staff, leaders and party-hosts. While some of us are pretty new to the world of conferences, others are seasoned veterans. There is one thing that you will learn at every conference…regardless of location, target audience and potential “take-away”….unplanned conversations lead to the strongest [...]

Reasons Invisalign Trays Don’t Suck During The Holidays

IT_MomBlog_badge_013111

Having a 13yo with Invisalign trays gives me something else to compare my traditional-braces-at-30 experience with, and finding yet another reason I really resent being born at the wrong time. This fabulous holiday season gives me reasons to ponder the advantages my son has. I’ve made this list of Reasons Invisalign Trays Don’t Suck During [...]

Aiming Low’s First Twitter List

twitter

There have been a lot of “lists” on Twitter. They inevitably turn into popularity contests and who’s the prom queen and king. It seemed it was time for Aiming Low to throw it’s trucker cap into the ring and come up with a list of our own. *this list was very scientifically formulated and the [...]

We always strive to be non-gender and non-age specific with Aiming Low. That is obviously not the case here. We want it to be [...]

How To Save Asia

a picture of me not being Vietnamese

Pedicures = relaxing. People making incredibly stupid statements = not relaxing. I’m sitting at the end of my manicure when a woman next to me decides to strike up a conversation. Something about the wheelchair says “Talk to me! I’m trapped here so I’ll smile and nod!” To be terribly stereotypical and completely racist about [...]

Aiming Low Come As You Are Party At BlogHer

How to do this gently so as not to rub it in that there are readers and writers that can’t attend BlogHer? BlogHer will probably suck, there will be blisters on our feet and we’ll spend our whole time wishing you were there. I’m not even sure why we’re going. *ARE THEY GONE?*

If You Can’t Keep One Foot In Front Of Technology, You Can At Least Trip That B*tch

Bright Idea

There’s a chance you’re reading this post on cutting edge technology. But, the better chance is that your technology was cutting edge when I wrote this post and already out of date by the time we published it. BETTER THAN THAT is the chance that the last time your computer was considered top-of-the-line was around [...]

There Is No Spoon….Or Fork….Or Windows XP

The Matrix Code

I’m supposed to let Robin and Britt do all the funny videos and photos, but sometimes I see something that is worth risking my friendship.

Next Year I Vote We Award Them With Nutella and Chicklets

Award

It’s either summer break or end-of-the-year program time for most parents. I attended the award ceremony for my daughters with a mixture of I’m-so-proud-that’s-my-kid and OMG-the-horror-of-this-many-PTA-parents-in-one-place. The kids had worked hard. The parents were proud. The teachers were near comatose with relief. As joyful *cough* as this experience was, it brought up a few points.
