You may have been asking yourself “What exactly IS a roundtable and how is this different from what I’ve come to expect at conferences?”

Let me see if I can clear that up at all.

We are opting to hold each session as a roundtable.

Each session will have three or four roundtables = informal, relaxed, Q/A, two-way conversations between the Aiming Low staff leading THAT particular ’roundtable’ and the attendees that have chosen THAT ’roundtable’.

It actually has nothing to do with the shapes of the tables. I know! Mind-blowing!!!

There will be roundtables with topics for every session.

BUT, if you aren’t into any of the topics there will always be a CHAT roundtable, hosted by Aiming Low staff.

There you go!

“Roundtable” by Aiming Low definition!

We’ve also listened to what friends have said about the blogging conferences that are currently available.

Too expensive.
Too scary.
Too hard to ditch the family and take a trip by yourself.

And so Aiming Low’s Non-Conference at Callaway Gardens was born.

Pardon us while we obliterate any objections like that last piece of cheesecake after the kids have gone to bed.

Too expensive? This event has NO REGISTRATION FEE!

Too scary? Forget panel sessions, all learning at this event is going to take place in laid back round-table areas led by Aiming Low Staff and friends. You want to talk up a storm and ask a bunch of questions? Go ahead. Are you the chill, laid out type who just likes to listen? Don’t worry, not matter who you are, you’ll always have a place to go. Although, we promise not to judge if you need a nap.

Too hard to ditch the family and take a trip by yourself? If you want to tote the family along, our choice of location, the scenic Callaway Gardens offers you the kind of idyllic experience that’s going to be enjoyable for your entire family including Robin Lake Beach, two golf courses, beautiful nature trails, a glass-enclosed conservatory housing over 1,000 tropical butterflies, a Birds of Prey Show, swimming, zip lines and more. With over 13,000 acres of fun, we’re pretty sure the family will find something to do.

As we get closer and closer to October 2012, we’re planning on sharing more information and important details about the #ALNonCon, so join our mailing list to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

In the past years, Aiming Low-ers have been conference attenders, speakers, panelists, staff, leaders and party-hosts.

While some of us are pretty new to the world of conferences, others are seasoned veterans.

There is one thing that you will learn at every conference…regardless of location, target audience and potential “take-away”….unplanned conversations lead to the strongest relationships and unforgettable learning moments.

In this spirit, Aiming Low has created the first Non-Conference.

The Aiming Low Non-Conference is an event meant to get back to the core values of blogging. It will be a weekend full of question and answers and information-sharing. There will be NO PANELS, just a learning environment where you are welcomed to ask about the personal, technical, seeking, slightly embarrassing questions you might have and get honest, genuine answers from both the Aiming Low team and your peers.

The #ALNonCon will be held at Callaway Gardens in beautiful Georgia. October 12-13, 2012.

There will be no conference attendance cost.

We can’t wait to see you there.

We are stupid with excitement and will announce more soon!

Having a 13yo with Invisalign trays gives me something else to compare my traditional-braces-at-30 experience with, and finding yet another reason I really resent being born at the wrong time.

This fabulous holiday season gives me reasons to ponder the advantages my son has.

I’ve made this list of Reasons Invisalign Trays Don’t Suck During The Holidays.

Eating – The mother of any teenage boy will tell you that food is just a mini-step down from air on the ladder of importance. The holiday corn-on-the-cob, caramel-pecan sticky buns, and an endless array of chewy, crunchy delights that are no longer off-limits with the flexibility of trays.

Timing – Nathaniel has his orthodontic appointment just days before Thanksgiving. The Invisalign trays give us the ability to take the trays out and enjoy the meals, then put them back in to stay on track with our target date.

Photo ops – How many family pictures do we all have as kids that we can date by the braces that are in the pictures? The near invisible nature of the trays lets every picture be natural and unselfconscious.

Parties – We’ve had a sleepover and a birthday party this week alone. When we know the cleaning of trays will interfere with other plans we can make the choice to keep them at home and he goes without.

Yeah, the Invisalign trays don’t suck.

My 13yo’s ability to rub in his good fortune DOES.

Disclosure:

While I am paid for my time, my opinion is my own and is never for sale. You Got that?? MY OPINION IS MY OWN. I’m a member of the Mom’s Advisory Board, and my son received complimentary Invisalign treatment. For more information about Invisalign, please visit www.Invisalign.com or Facebook.com/Invisalign

One way that Aiming Low is doing its part in this relationship is to put money in your pocket.

You don’t even have to mark your own street corner!

We have forged a partnership with Cint to bring YOU the opportunity to make money.

How it works:

You fill out the registration form that tells them all about you

Cint finds surveys that match your interests and contacts you to take these surveys

When you have finished the survey Cint pays YOU directly (for participation on your account—paid out through Paypal)

Companies paying for consumers to take surveys is nothing new—Cint helps facilitate the process by matching consumers with surveys and paying for their participation. It’s that simple.
