I’m one of those people who can easily spend an hour wandering around Target. The brightly colored home goods beg me to browse through its section. I usually shop for clothes at thrift stores but the women’s clearance rack always needs to be checked because you never know what you might find.
And then there’s the grocery area.
This section has some crazy gravitational pull which I just can’t seem to shake. I stock up on items like tomato sauce, canned beans, and dried pasta. And, of course, I always make a stop in the baking aisle. Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips and cheap boxes of cake mix often find their way into my shopping cart.
That’s right. The girl who loves baking sweets buys cake mix. And I have absolutely no shame in buying it. Especially when it’s on sale. But when I do buy it, I usually make a homemade frosting, like the one below, to go with it.
I make it a point to write a list of all the things I need to pick up from Target and sticking to it. I used to go in with only four things on my list and end up with a cart full of stuff. Then when I went to check out I was always like, how did all of this get in here? Seriously. It’s like I’m under some kind of influence in there. Maybe they pump something into the air conditioning that makes people want to buy more than they should.
Target, you’ve got me hooked.
And I just don’t know how to quit you.
So, fellow Target junkies, what section does the most damage to your wallet?
