Producteev is Free, Slick and You Might Actually Use It

I’m a big productivity whore. I try out a whole bunch of different tools, all the time, and I tend to switch between them with frequency. Now, you might think that’s not very productive and, frankly, it’s not. So when I found Producteev, with it’s slick interface and pretty buttons and multitude of ways to separate out my tasks and areas of my life… well, I fell in lust. I think it’s deepening to a love, which is a lot from a productivity whore like myself.

Producteev is a free tool to help you keep track of all your To Dos. I can’t go over all of its benefits in this post – there are just way too many cool features – but I’ll give you the highlights reel:

  • Workspaces: You can set up different workspaces for your tasks to live in. For me, this means one for business & one for personal tasks. For you, this might mean one for you and one for your spouse. Whatever – it’s nice to keep my grocery list and laundry away from work related To Dos.
  • Invite another user to collaborate: Still free, you can invite up to one other user (per workspace!) to collaborate on your tasks. That means that your Honey Do list can now be interactive.
  • Incredible integrations: Producteev integrates to send me reminders via email, various IM/chat applications, Twitter, text message, and even integrates with Google Calendar. Google Calendar integrates with pretty much everything else in the world, so that makes this task list nearly limitless in possibilities.
  • So smart, it’s almost human: You can send emails to task@producteev.com from a registered email address to set up To Dos, request a list of what’s due today, and even respond directly to the email reminders from Producteev to mark tasks as completed, postpone them, or update tags and details.
  • Organize the way that works for you: Sort and categorize tasks by priority, tags and due date within workspaces, and easily see an overview of all tasks regardless of workspace.

There is an iOS app, though it could be more robust/intuitive. Nothing for Android yet, but they’re working on it. Meanwhile, the mobile interface rocks, and with all the integrations between email, chat applications and Twitter, it’s easy to get your To Dos without actually loading up another app anyway. Not just easy on the eyes, but also the RAM. Heh.

If you can send an email, you can manage this task list. So go ahead and sign up! It’s worth a try, and when you’re done you can mark “Sign up for Productivity / List Manager” off your list! WOOT!

The link to Producteev is getting a 404 error.

Sounds great, though, I want to get it. I can use all the help I can get!

Which one? There are a few apps that integrate with Producteev, but nothing from them officially yet that I can see (darn!) Astrid is pretty amazing, and ToDoToday is a very simple one. Free version is read-only.
