Anatomy Of The Night My Kid Wouldn’t Stop Puking

1. It’s amazing how tolerant I’ve become about cleaning up puke now…. oops, just added a bit to the pile there.

Alas, my daughter was NOT wearing her hair in braids.

2. Turns out you can read an entire young adult novel in about two hours! Glad I brought two.

3. Your child shaking and moaning and chattering incomprehensibly is not funny.

4. Although when she woke up and started telling me about her dream with the purple lizard, that was HILARIOUS. Wish I wasn’t so tired that I could remember it.

5. Liquid tylenol smells AWESOME when it comes back up.

6. That second young adult novel was also awesome. Two novels in one night. Wow.

7. Oh my fucking GOD I’m tired.

8. Why don’t I have any ginger ale in the house? The diet coke I have is NOT a stomach soothing alternative.

9. Wait, I think she might be asleep!

10. Is that the sun? Hey, she IS asleep! ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I’ve heard flat coke or diet coke will help settle a stomach. And sometimes warm salt water, if you drink it, will work too. I know it sounds nasty and like something you would in no way want to drink when you are puking, but it does something to settle the stomach.

Oh no, it probably is the second worst part of motherhood, cleaning poop is still the worst. Holding their head while trying to not gag as the sick comes out, it’s a skill I tell you.

I hope she feels better soon.
