Hello!
I’m Amber Marlow Blatt, blogger at theAmberShow.net, professional freelance photographer, and brand new host of Capture It! You may thunderously applause.
When the folks at Aiming Low asked me to be a part of this I was so excited, until I got to the part in their email where they asked me to be humorous.
Uh oh.
You guys, I’m just not funny. I eat high-fiber cereal, get eight hours of sleep every night, and wear sensible shoes. I do have a sort of afro which is sort of funny, but is that good enough? I’m worried, friends.
Here are the ground rules of Capture It, just to refresh: I give the weekly prompt each Friday and you take a photo that captures the essence of it. It can be as literal or as figurative as you’d like, and you can snap a shot with your cellphone or bust out your fancy camera – whatever you want. Photos have to be taken in that week and submitted to our Flickr pool here: Aiming Low’s Capture It Flickr group.
So! My first prompt is but one-word: “Sprung”. My photo above is my submission to the group; I took it in celebration of the fact that spring has finally sprung here in Brooklyn! My husband and I went to a friend’s house and sneaked up onto her roof to drink beers and watch the sun set behind the F train bridge. YOU can take a photo depicting any usage of the word you’d like (maybe you “sprung” for a new sweater or bike and you want to capture it on film, or perhaps your significant other has got you “sprung”, a la Beyoncé.)
Go forth and take photos, comrades! Do your best, and have fun.

I’m liking the pic. Those self-body-object photos are surprisingly hard to do!
I like this idea. Will see what I can come up with. . .
