Sewing and crafting has ruined me. It’s difficult for me to see something in a store that can be made by me and not calculate the savings if I were to make it. I often make baby gifts instead of purchasing them and usually they are a mish-mash of diaper holders and burp cloths, and then I buy and include other helpful things that parents need such as safety nail clippers and nose suction bulbs.
When I realized I had a pack of onsies and my fancy pants magic printer, aka the HP 7500A, I knew I could top off a basket o’ baby stuff present with some customized onsies. It doesn’t have to be a onsie – any t-shirt would do for this project – but I had a pack and so, there you go.
This one is an Aiming Low project because it’s quick, easy and makes you look really crafty and cool because that’s what HP does. Cool and crafty. Here are 5 simple steps to utter coolness for yourself:
• Get a t-shirt or onsie pack
• Order some HP iron-on transfer paper (for white or colored materials – from here).
• Open up a document and insert free clip art. My clip art came with my operating system. I bet if you hit “Insert” on your computer you’ll come up with some clip art too. I wanted black and white graphics but changed them up and printed some extras on the sheet in color for future iron on projects
- If you have any words in the graphics you type in you’ll need to flip/rotate it…think mirror because you’ll be ironing on.
- Cut them out and iron on. Follow the directions on the package. The entire project took about 15 minutes but only because it took me a few minutes to figure out how to flip the Love/Bones image.
See? The EZPZist ever! Even wrestling dude* thinks they’re terrific.
