Could This Be More Awkward?

In response to the numerous comments I received on my last post,

I Loved Her Very Much and Uh…..Yada, Yada?

which was about my dilemma as to what I’m going to say when the time comes to eulogize my parents,  I decided that to ask them to film their own eulogy would be a bit, how do you say, “awkward”, as I’m pretty sure they would demure, telling me to “just say what’s in your heart at that moment” which, as we, all know, is the reason I wrote the fucking “yada yada” piece in the first place.

So here’s my alternative….

  1. Wow, you said so much in such a short span of time and video. I’m sure now your parents will REST assured that you will do them right at the pulpit thingy. And they can be all proud and verklempt now where you’ll be able to see it, cuz when it’s actual eulogy time you won’t. So this is good. Yeah.

Perhaps you should have gone with some sort of rap Eulogy..or even the gansta eulogy ” Wassup in da hous bee yotches! My Mom was the shizznit and my homie. She always kept mi bario at peace and warm…So Peace out Mom” Then you do that little double finger thing across your heart. of course you are gonna need some bling and a new grill to pull this off properly.

Somehow I think if you were holding a statuette and wearing an appropriate Armani number you could pull this off…

If it makes you feel any better when my mom died and I had to speak at her funeral I chose to read a poem I had sent her framed and matted just a month before when she celebrated her 57th birthday.

There was no way in hell I was going to be able to read something heartfelt and emotional on that day.

Way to make death funny. I had to speak at my father’s funeral, along with my 5 other siblings, and I just winged it. I kind of wish I would have watched this first, but y’know…. it didn’t exist yet. Anyway back to the point…. I found this flat out hilarious. I am truly LOLing.
