Since it seems we have a bit of a relationship theme today here at Aiming Low (which I know, of course, in my all-seeing capacity as editor) AND my darling husband and I just celebrated 18 years of being together (so hard to believe, right? I was, like, five years old when we got together), I thought I’d share with you how I knew the romance was utterly and completely gone from our marriage.
1. On our rare “date” nights (meaning my husband and I get to sneak out to a movie, usually) I no longer bother to put makeup on. I asked my husband once, “Do you care?” and he said, “Do I have to put on a clean shirt?”
2. We have to schedule sex. Long gone are the days where we could barely be seen in public because we were so busy pawing at each other. I miss those days.
3. I have, more than once, picked my nose in front of my husband.
4. Change nose to ass.
5. Change ass to teeth.
6. We have both pooped on the toilet while the other one showers.
7. We no longer finish each other’s sentences. We’re too busy doing our own thing to pay that much attention to what the other one is saying. (Not as dire as it seems. Swear.)
8. We can change soiled beddings and soothe our daughter while naked – and not get distracted.
9. We happily describe our symptoms of illness to each other in detail. “No, the snot is DARK green!”
and, best of all…
10. I have, without pause or thought, extracted, cleaned, and replaced my Diva Cup in front of my husband.
True love, eh?

LOL. Abby, at this point, with only one bathroom, I don’t often have a choice.
Ironically, it’s not bad doing it in front of the hubby. I tried once in front of my daughter, and that was NOT a fun conversation.
Yeah to most of them. Except the toilet stuff. Jman will have none of that I tell you.
