Do you have your Ferris Bueller?
Cause who doesn’t need someone who shows up with a 1964 Ferrari?
But, what I mean is having that person who will talk you into things you either shouldn’t do or don’t really WANT to do.
Yet always enjoy.
“I’m too old for that.”
You may be saying, because it has been years since you cut class let alone spent the day in downtown Chicago.
But maybe you’ve gone out for cocktails when you just want to curl up in your jammies.
Or perhaps you’ve been shanghaied into a movie starring Reece Witherspoon when you were in the mood to go one with Clint Eastwood.
There’s even the likelihood that you were planning to go home and finish addressing those holiday cards and you had to sit in a red chair sipping a latte instead.
Poor baby.
But you have Ferris. Ferris who talks you into all sorts of things.
Shopping instead of organizing the garage. That was your Ferris.
The weekend you spent in Cancun with the girls. Ferris’ idea all the way.
Spending extra money on that shirt you loved and deciding winter coats could until….I don’t know….WINTER….all Ferris.
Everyone has a Ferris in their life, or they need one.
Are you going to be talked into thing you wouldn’t do on your own, or are you the Ferris?

Oh, I’m pretty sure I can be peer pressured into anything. Well, I don’t think I’d eat cockroaches; that just sounds disgusting.

I’m lucky enough to have married my Ferris. My husband makes me go shopping, get pedicures, order take out, and take lots of mini vacations. It’s the best!
I’m totally the bad influence.

Believe it or not my Mom is my Ferris. I was just talking to her the other day about how I would love to go to Blogher next year, but it is so much money and it is so far and I would have to leave the kids and blahdy, blah, blah and she said, “Do it. Just do it. Don’t worry about all of that other stuff. Go for it.” Right then I realized she had been that force my whole life. She didn’t push me out of the nest. She encouraged me to jump all by myself.

I want to be that kind of Mom!!!
Well said! Do you mind if I put that on my wall of inspiration?
I’m totally the Ferris. Although I have been known to be “encouraged slightly” by another Ferris…not that I need much encouragement.
