If It Has More Than Two Ingredients It’s A Recipe. So Bite Me.

backburnerI have a rule that I follow when I need to eat, don’t feel like cooking, and don’t give a rat’s ass if it’s nutritional.  If it has more than two ingredients and requires a utensil to prepare, it counts as a recipe and also means you “cooked.”  It’s even better if it contains at least two sections of the food pyramid, and you get bonus points if “fats, oils and sweets” isn’t one of the main ingredients. You get triple points if it is. Heh.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that you might be surprised what could possibly count as a Back Burner Recipe for the contest we’re running right now.  This IS Aiming Low, for crying out loud.  But apparently Shauna Glenn forgot that when she was mortified to know that I’ve served Glop for dinner before.

In my defense, I didn’t *make* it for dinner, I just reheated the leftovers.  And you know what?  It’s got dairy & protein in it, so it totally counts as a good meal.  And you eat it with tortilla chips, so that adds another food group to the mix.  SCORE!!!

Something like Glop could totally qualify as an entry.  Potato chips and onion dip DO NOT COUNT, SHAUNA.  Even if you DID serve it to your family one night for dinner.  Which is kind of awesome.

So, you’re a faithful Aiming Low reader.  I KNOW you have a recipe to share with us.  The prizes are amazing, the recognition will be stellar and you’ll have an entire year’s worth of bragging rights if you win.  What’s better than that?

You have until Wednesday night to submit an entry.  Hurry up.  We’ll still be here when you’re done.

If you want to know the official rules, go here.
