One of the services my business offers is setting up sites for clients which includes purchasing domains on their behalf. Clients usually have a domain in mind and it’s often as easy as me typing it in et voila, making the purchase.
But sometimes the domain is already taken and when that happens, many of the domain providers make suggestions based on the searched request.
Usually it’s just the preferred domain name prefixed with “the” or with a few numbers tacked on the end.
Usually the suggestions are silly and unremarkable which does not lend to a good domain name choice.
But sometimes I have to wonder WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE DOMAIN PROVIDER THINKING ???? when they automated the list of suggestions.
Case in point. I was looking to purchase “The Basement” which of course was already taken. But what did this particular provider suggest as a suitable alternative?

Yes ma’me. I’ll be getting right on that idea of suggesting to my client that she changes the name of her site to “thetaliban.net” or “thebasementtaliban.net”.
Though I must agree it is easy to remember.
Also I’m kinda shocked it’s not already taken. Must be because wi-fi isn’t available in the hills and caves of Afghanistan.
You just know I’m on a government watch list somewhere now. YOU JUST KNOW IT. This folks is an all time new low for me. Boo-yah!
