I was recently the guest of honour at a baby shower held at my dad and step-mom’s house. The decorations were fun, the food was terrific and the punch was flowing. Even my friend’s four-year-old daughter enjoyed some, until her mommy realized she’d doled it out from the wrong bowl…
Like every good baby shower, there were also games. These weren’t your usual “guess the circumference of the waddling mom-to-be’s ever enlarging belly” variety, though. And for that, I will forever be grateful.
To show you what I mean, here’s a photo that was taken at the shower. As you can see, there are some games set up, some prizes ready to be awarded to the winners of those games, and WAIT, what is THAT?

Oh my lord, is that a dirty diaper on the table?!
Well, yes, it is, but it’s not what you think. I did not just post a picture of poop on Aiming Low.
I present to you one of the most simultaneously gross and awesome baby shower games ever: GUESS THE CHOCOLATE POOP.
Here’s what you need:
Five or six clean diapers.
Five or six different kinds of chocolate bars or treats.
A magic marker.
Pens or pencils and sheets paper for guessing.
A sense of humour.
In each diaper, smoosh a piece of each kind of chocolate. How creative you decide to be is up to you! For the game at my shower, there were chunks of Kit-Kat, Toblerone, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Oh Henry (the peanuts added real interest) and Mint Aero (this one may be a Canadian product).
After you’ve put a blob of each chocolate bar into the diapers, eat the rest of each one. Hide the wrappers.
Number each diaper.
Each shower attendee takes turns opening up the diapers to guess which kind of chocolate bar is inside each one. Smelling the chocolate is optional.

Ok that is disturbing and funny at the same time. And I am disgusted to admit that I now have a craving for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
We did this at my baby shower a few years back. It was a hit and oh so gross at the same time, lol. We had a couples shower and for many of the men it was their first shower ever they thought the women were nuts.

My best friend set that game up for our shower. Some were concerned it would be too vile for (especially, but not only) the older generations in attendance. I have never heard my family’s women roar with laughter like they did with this game! 95% of them have dealt with dirty diapers more than a couple times in their lives. A few gagged – which made everyone else laugh harder. A fantastic game – but throw a couple curveballs in — Reese’s cups are easy to identify – snickers melts to expose the nuts (especially gross) – throw in a harder option or two unless you’re willing to award everyone a prize!

That sounds like sooo much fun. And way gross – I may have thrown up in my mouth a bit. But whatever.
And Mint Aero?? I like it already…I love mint. And chocolate. Especially if it is dark chocolate. Please enlighten us sad Americans.

second…. Where on earth did you find Oh! Henry’s? I havent had one in so long… every Halloween I hope the kids will get a mini one— and they dont.
This year they even stopped getting Peanut Chews which is my second favorite

I went to a baby shower yesterday and I would have liked the poop game a hell of a lot more than what we played. BORING!
I remember playing this at my cousin’s shower!
Played this once. I was way too grossed out to enjoy it. Maybe because I was sober and didn’t know any of the other 90 people (!) at the shower.
I ALWAYS make sure to take shots of the ladies sniffing at the poop. Makes for great Facebook pictures!

Aero bars are awesome! theyre a candy bar with aerated bubbles of air though out the chocolate that pop when you suck on it and feel a little like pop rocks but not so intese if that makes any sense lol, I’m not canadian but know that you can get them in specialty candy shops or with the foreign candies at Kroger :)
and when hubby and i have kids we are totally having that game at my baby shower lol

We played this at a friend’s shower and people ended up eating it off the diaper.
I have klassy friends.
Wouldn’t keep me away from the chocolate for a second, sad!

I had to participate in not one, but TWO showers of this sort. Nast. I’m so glad nearly everyone i know is nearly done with the pregnancy stuff. Oy!!

I’ve heard of this game but amazingly, I’ve never attended a shower where it was played.
Yep! A very fun game and the faces of the participants is a priceless memory!
My best friend had this at her baby shower except they melted the chocolate first in the microwave which added to the mystery. It was gross looking for sure. I found Aero bars at World Market. They are so yummy but Cadbury Flake bars are my favorite!
Ok, promise me that when the baby boy is out and you go to the store you will pick me up ONE MINT AERO!!!! I beg thee, my friend!
